Made Trade

I recently got the opportunity to collaborate with Made Trade, an ethical online marketplace. They were kind enough to send me a pair of their pink Shicato Majeta earrings which were absolutely lovely. (Scroll to bottom for $15 off your purchase!)

The brand Shicato employs and empowers female artisans in Ecuador to create gorgeous, eco-friendly jewelry and accessories from sustainably sourced materials like tagua seeds, alpaca wool, and toquilla straw. The tagua seeds used in Shicato’s jewelry are both sustainable and zero waste.

Made Trade brings together multiple sustainable brands and is committed to quality craftsmanship above mindless consumption and transparency. They make ethical shopping SO much more convenient. I often find myself struggling to discover ethical brands and end up doing tons of hours research. Made Trade makes these brands more easily accessible while also helping social enterprises tell their stories and increase their impact.

All Made Trade goods adhere to one or more of their values:

Sustainable — made with earth-friendly materials, either responsibly harvested, recycled or upcycled

Fair Trade — handmade by artisans outside the US adhering to fair labor practices

Heritage — crafted by hand using traditional and often centuries-old techniques

USA Made — locally made my makers in the United States

Vegan — free of any and all animal materials

Since the holidays are right around the corner, be sure to check you their stunning gifts collection!
